The IAM was faced with a lot of members that were upset and cynical about the Health and Safety conditions in our work place that led to an uphill battle to force the Company to provide Chairs at the NPS points.<\/p>\n
The Union and the Health and Safety Committee met with the
\nCompany on a regular basis in regards to this very important issue but the IAM was told it was CATSA who had to approve the use of chairs at NPS.<\/p>\n
The Union started the process by submitting a study for “Prolonged
\nStanding at Our Work Place”, forcing CATSA to investigate the
\nconditions and render a decision.<\/p>\n
The Union succeeded in their struggle for the chairs and won the battle.<\/p>\n
The chairs were placed at the NPS points.<\/p>\n
This is only the beginning for the Union in showing the determination of how we will stand by our members for any and all unfair treatment or Violation of rights.<\/p>\n
