During the week of March 15th<\/sup> and 22nd<\/sup>, your Negotiations Committee met with Garda.
\n<\/p>\n

Some items have been addressed, but many still have not been resolved to satisfy the needs of the membership.<\/p>\n

Much of the time during this two (2) week period the Committee dealt with operational issues such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Breaks<\/td>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pick up of Hours beyond forty (40)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shift Bids<\/td>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Extension of hours for Part Time Employees<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vacation Bids<\/td>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Improvements for the TTL position, and<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Daily Terminal Transfers<\/td>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Non-passenger Screening Vehicle positions<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Monetary issues were discussed and the company\u2019s response to your needs are well short of what is required regarding:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wages<\/td>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pensions<\/td>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Job Security<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sick Days and<\/td>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Parking costs<\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

As a result, your Negotiations Committee has written to the Federal Government requesting the appointment of a Conciliator to assist the parties in reaching an agreement.<\/p>\n

We will keep you updated on any future developments regarding these negotiations.<\/p>\n
