{"id":211,"date":"2011-12-16T18:30:21","date_gmt":"2011-12-16T18:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/screeners.iamaw.ca\/?p=211"},"modified":"2012-01-05T02:18:32","modified_gmt":"2012-01-05T02:18:32","slug":"correcting-the-record-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/screeners.iamaw.ca\/?p=211","title":{"rendered":"Correcting the Record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Lately, many Screeners at YYZ have been outraged!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Screeners have been telling us that the CAWU have been taking credit for bringing screeners back to work after the company took action against some of them this fall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s be clear about a few things:<\/strong>\u00a0 <!--more--><br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Screeners had little or no representation from the CAWU after they were terminated.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0When Screeners were asked to meet with the company, the CAWU mostly never bothered to even show up except for their own hardcore supporters.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0There were no CAWU lawyers present to provide any legal advice on screeners rights and priveliges.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Farooq Hamid, your legally elected President, who the CAWU have consistently tried to remove from his post by unethical means, was present at your meetings with the company. You trusted him and you asked him to be present at those meetings. He didn\u2019t disappoint you.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0You were brought back to work because you were innocent of all charges NOT because the CAWU did anything to help!<\/p>\n<p>When the CAWU folks start telling about how they brought members back \u2013 tell them you know the real story.
