{"id":341,"date":"2012-02-23T20:25:23","date_gmt":"2012-02-23T20:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/screeners.iamaw.ca\/?p=341"},"modified":"2012-02-23T20:25:23","modified_gmt":"2012-02-23T20:25:23","slug":"finally-you-get-to-decide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/screeners.iamaw.ca\/?p=341","title":{"rendered":"FINALLY&#8230;You get to decide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>GREAT NEWS!!!<\/strong> The Canada Industrial Relations Board has ruled that Toronto Screeners will determine their own future by proceeding to a vote on which union they want to represent them.<\/p>\n<p>After more than a year of dealing with intimidation, threats and secret deals, Toronto Screeners can proudly say, \u201cI stood strong and now I WILL DECIDE.\u201d<br \/>\nIn its concise and explicit 7-page decision, the Board stated that the IAM <strong><em>\u201c\u2026 has majority support among members of the bargaining unit.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> The Board further said that they would call for a vote to <strong><em>\u201callow the employees to express their wishes with respect to union representation.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Board has appointed Ms. Natalie Zawadowsky , Regional Director for the Board\u2019s Ontario Region to act as the Returning Officer. She will provide us with details of the upcoming <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">electronic vote<\/span>.
