\n<\/strong><\/p>\nQualifications and expectations for the Negotiating Committee members are as follows:
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Must be a member in good standing, meaning has signed an IAM card as of December 31, 2011
\n2.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Must have been employed at Garda for at least one year, as per Article 23.2
\n3.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Nominator must also be an IAM member in good standing.
\n4.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0The training will be in the USA at the IAM\u2019s Winpisinger Education Centre in Maryland, and anyone seeking the position as a Negotiating Committee member must understand and be able to commit to the following:
\na.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Must have a valid Canadian passport
\nb.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Have a criminal-free record to be able to travel into the USA
\nc.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Be able to travel to the USA
\nd.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Be able to attend the Negotiations training at the Winpisinger Education Centre between May 5 through to May 11, 2012
\n\u2022 All travel, accommodations and meals will be paid by the IAM for negotiations preparation training.
\n\u2022 The IAM will make arrangements with Garda for time clearance from work.
\nNegotiating Committee nomination forms are available from IAM representatives Robert Savoie or Carlos DaCosta.
\nTo submit a nomination form, the rules are the same as for the Shop Steward positions, and can be submitted by fax, scanned and emailed, or submitted in person to an IAM representative such as Robert Savoie, or Carlos DaCosta.
\nIf an election is required for Shop Stewards or for Negotiating Committee members, it shall take place on April 11, 2012. Further details will follow.
\nNOTE: ANY REFERENCE TO MEMBER MEANS THAT HE OR SHE MUST HAVE SIGNED AN IAM CARD AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2011<\/p>\n
