From the IAM to all Garda Employees

Three years ago the CAWU was created. You were told by the individuals who started this union that, if you voted for them, you would merge with another large union. As you know this did not happen. These same individuals are continuing to mislead you for their own benefit.

This will provide you with the facts on many issues and concerns you may have.

The CAWU is telling many of you that if you sign a card with the IAM you will suffer the following:

Split shifts

Reduced sick days

Unpaid lunch

Loss of benefits

Cuts to your COLA

New probation period for all employees

You will pay $75.00 Union dues

 

All of the misinformation being spread by the CAWU is 100% not true. The truth is that you keep what you currently have in your collective agreement and the IAM would negotiate improvements to these items along with improving your wages and benefits.

The IAM Union dues for Garda employees will be only $45.00 per month and, for this, you will receive more services than the CAWU can ever offer.

I will personally guarantee that the information contained in this notice is 100% true and you can rely on the IAM to always provide you with correct information.

Put an end to the lies and poor representation by signing an IAM card immediately, this is the only way to rid yourselves of the CAWU.
