IAM Demands and Gets More Weekend and Preferred Shifts
After a long, hard fought battle with the company, the IAM Local Lodge 2921 Shift Committee demanded additional weekends and preferred shifts.
The company has agreed to the following:
Winter 2014 Shift bid:
37% of Full Time (More than 400 FT employees) will have Saturday and Sunday off: an increase of 21% FT Weekends Off
6.5% of Full Time have partial weekends off (Sunday and Monday)
6% of Full Time have partial weekends off (Friday & Saturday)
An increase in full weekends off for Full Time employees
Last bid: 16% of Full Time had Saturday and Sunday off
10% of Full Time had partial weekends off (Sunday and Monday)
11% of Full Time had partial weekends off (Friday & Saturday)
- 35 lines will have 3 scheduled HBS Shifts – previous bid: 10 lines: increase of 25 FT lines with additional HBS shifts
- 10 hour shift introduced to the Overnight Shift
