ATTENTION ALL IAMAW LOCAL LODGE 2921 MEMBERS- PROPOSED BYLAW CHANGE ART 4

The proposed Local Lodge 2921 By-Law Amendment was read out at the February 18, 2016 General Membership Meeting. The Second reading and voting are to take place at the March 17, 2016 General Membership Meeting.

ARTICLE 4 – FEES AND DUES

SECTION A.
Qualifications for membership in this Lodge shall be as provided in the IAM Constitution.

SECTION B.

Initiation fees shall be the equivalent of two (2) full month’s dues.

SECTION C
The minimum monthly dues are established yearly, effective January 1st 2013 by District Lodge 140 and Grand Lodge. To cover the expenses of the Local Lodge 2921, the total amount required shall be $54.55.

However, as a newly organized Lodge, an amount of $45.00 per month has been set. Between now and the end of the collective agreement, the dues shall increase gradually so as to catch up to the regular dues payment required.

Education funds received from the employer under the Collective Agreement language will be used for education purposes.

SECTION A.

SECTION B.

Initiation fees shall be the equivalent of two (2) full month’s dues.

SECTION C.

The minimum monthly dues are established yearly, effective January 1st 2013 by District Lodge 140 and Grand Lodge.

Effective March 1st 2016, to cover the expenses of the Local Lodge 2921, the dues amount required shall be $28.00 biweekly. To reduce the impact on the lodge’s members, the appropriate portions of the monthly dues are to be deducted by the employer from each bi-weekly paycheque.

Notwithstanding the provisions of these bylaws, any future increase in per capita tax or any other assessment, instituted by and Grand Lodge/ District Lodge action or approval, thereof, then current Lodge dues shall automatically be increased by an amount equal to such tax or assessment.
