YYZ SHOP STEWARD TRAINING

On Thursday September 1st 2016 Local Lodge 2921 held their 2nd Shop Steward training in the Terminal 1 IAMAW union office. This training was given by our General Chairperson (Barry Barnett) and our Educator (Amandeep Singh Buttar). The purpose of this training was to first welcome the newly appointed Shop Steward’s, and second it was to educate and outline the roles and responsibilities of a Shop Steward and what the job exactly entails. They were also educated on how to properly file grievance’s. This intense training was to not only educate our Shop Steward’s but to also build the confidence to successfully represent any member at the first stage.
