MORE SECRECY

The IAM has just uncovered a document which shows yet again that you cannot trust the CAWU. It has only recently been published on their website after two (2) years of being hidden from you.

We are referring to the Letter of Understanding #7 (LOU #7) dated 27 April, 2010, signed by Sumeet Datta, former President of the CAWU. This letter is being used against you, resulting in layoffs. See below for a copy of this letter of understanding.

The Letter of Understanding was signed approximately ONE YEAR AFTER the current Collective Agreement was signed and it overrides other provisions of the Collective Agreement. This means that what you ratified as a group is overridden by the signature of ONE INDIVIDUAL who signed it in secret!

While pretending to care about your jobs, the CAWU was signing them away. They kept you in the dark and sold you out. Once again they were only concerned about their own agenda and not your jobs.

The CAWU will not stop unless all Screening Officers stand together and tell them you won’t tolerate this kind of behaviour. Protect your employment and your future – VOTE IAM
