REPRESENTATION VOTE

A representation vote among employees of Garda Security Screening Inc. will be conducted by the Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) in order to determine who will act as their bargaining agent in matters of collective bargaining with their employer.

What you need to know:

The vote will be held electronically – this means by telephone OR internet. All eligible voters will receive a letter to their HOME ADDRESS outlining how to vote and providing a personal identification number (PIN) which is required to cast a ballot. Voters should receive this letter on or about March 6, 2012. This PIN number is confidential; therefore do not share it with ANYONE. 

You may contact the VOTER HELP CENTRE toll free at 1-888-281-8683 if you have not received your letter by the commencement of the vote on March 7, 2012. Please advise the Management of Garda if your home address has changed in the past six months and you have not already advised the company.

Voters will be allowed to vote without interference, restraint or coercion from ANY source. You will only be allowed to vote ONCE using your PIN and then it will no longer be valid.  A representative of the Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) will be overseeing the vote. This is a SECRET BALLOT vote.

 

Eligible Voters:

 Employees eligible to vote are those employed as of January 3, 2012 and who remain so employed on the date of the vote. This will also include any person who has been wrongfully dismissed from the company with an active grievance and include any SPM who as of January 3, 2012 was an active screener. To ensure eligibility please check the list posted by the company for your name.

Time and Place of Vote:

You may vote anytime from Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. EST until Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. EST

To vote online go to www.garda.isivote.com and follow the instructions.

To vote by telephone, call the toll free voting phone number at 1-888-360-8915 and follow the instructions.

You will need a PIN to cast your vote. If you lose or misplace your PIN, please contact the VOTER HELP CENTRE toll free at 1-888-281-8683. The Voter Help Centre will be operated by Intelivote. It will be open for calls from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 to Monday, March 12, 2012. On the final day of the vote (Tuesday, March 13, 2012), the Help Centre will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST.

 The PIN which will be provided is for personal use only and shall not be shared with, or used by, anyone other than the authorized user. (You the screener)

The results of the vote will be available immediately following the end of the vote on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. This is your chance to have your say, so make your vote count.
