Sick Days / Personal Days

Dear Brother and Sisters,

Throughout this crisis, the IAMAW has continued to fight for the members of Local Lodge 2921. The IAMAW was able to attain an arbitrated settlement for our grievance on personal days for our members working part time for the period of Sept 1, 2019 to Dec 31, 2019. On September 1, 2019, the Canada Labour code changed, giving those workers who currently did not have sick days, five sick days (three with pay). Under the arbitrated settlement of this grievance, part time members that were sick between September 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019 will be compensated for four hours for each day sick, up to a maximum of three days. This arbitrated settlement constitutes full settlement of the grievance and the payment will be made before the end of April 2020.
