Shop Stewards – Nominations Update

Shop Steward nominations closed at 1700 hrs on 27 March, 2012.

We will be reviewing all the nomination forms submitted by the members to determine if elections are required for each of the 3 locations (Terminal 1, Terminal 3 and Toronto Island). If an election is required at a particular location, members from that location only will be voting for the shop stewards nominated from that location.

Once the 24 shop stewards are trained and in place, each group of stewards at their particular location will select a Senior Shop Steward (1 each for T-1, T-3 and Toronto Island). The 3 senior stewards will be further trained for one additional day.

Training for all shop stewards elected will consist of 2 days as shown below:
•    Training for first group of 12 will be April 19 and 20, 2012
•    Training for second group of 12 will be April 24 and 25, 2012
•    Training for the three Senior Shop Stewards chosen will be on April 27, 2012

The three Senior Shop Stewards will be on the Bargaining Committee as per Article 23-Negotiating Committee of the current collective agreement.
