22ND ANNUAL DISTRICT 140 CONVENTION
DELEGATE NOMINATIONS & ELECTIONS

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The current pandemic situation has forced provinces in Canada to put in place COVID19 restrictions. The fact of the matter remains that every province has set forth different restrictions and such a decision has impacted some Local Lodges across Canada with regards to having the opportunity to hold a monthly meeting.

District 140 Bylaw Article 4.03 currently has the following language: “Local Lodges under the jurisdiction of the District will call for delegate nominations in February and elections in April.”

As such, the Transportation District 140 Executive Board had taken the position to request dispensation from Article 4.03.
MOTION: For the Local Lodges than cannot comply with Article 4.03 of the District 140 Bylaws because of the provincial COVID-19 restrictions, we seek dispensation from

Article 4.03 in the manner that the nominations be held in April 2022 and the elections be held in May 2022. MOVED. Seconded. Unanimously Carried. This dispensation request has been granted & approved by the GVP Dave Chartrand.

Therefore, all Local Lodges that have not been able to conduct their nominations for the Transportation District 140 delegation at their monthly meeting in February 2022 due to COVID-19 provincial restrictions, have now been afforded the option to hold nominations during their April 2022 monthly meeting & conduct their elections no later than monthly
meeting in May 2022.
