RE: OCTOBER 18, 2012 UPDATE

Over the last two days the IAM has consulted with our legal counsel about the legality of the announced Garda screener layoffs. The next step will be announced soon.

To minimize the proposed Garda screening position cuts, the Union has met with Garda’s scheduling department to scrutinize their proposed fall shift schedule. This schedule has more than 30% of the shift lines at part-time hours. So far, we have identified many shift lines that could have the hours increased, or two part-time lines combined to create one full-time line.
