NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE NO. 3
During the week of March 15th and 22nd, your Negotiations Committee met with Garda.
Some items have been addressed, but many still have not been resolved to satisfy the needs of the membership.
Much of the time during this two (2) week period the Committee dealt with operational issues such as:
· Breaks | · Pick up of Hours beyond forty (40) |
· Shift Bids | · Extension of hours for Part Time Employees |
· Vacation Bids | · Improvements for the TTL position, and |
· Daily Terminal Transfers | · Non-passenger Screening Vehicle positions |
Monetary issues were discussed and the company’s response to your needs are well short of what is required regarding:
· Wages | · Pensions | · Job Security |
· Sick Days and | · Parking costs |
As a result, your Negotiations Committee has written to the Federal Government requesting the appointment of a Conciliator to assist the parties in reaching an agreement.
We will keep you updated on any future developments regarding these negotiations.
