TO ALL LOCAL LODGES DISTRICT 140
HEALTH & SAFETY COORDINATOR POSITION
January 18, 2023

Dear Sisters and Brothers,
District 140 is looking to review the need and the structure of the National Health and Safety Coordinator position.
Currently, we have one (1) appointed position representing all District 140.

Roles and Responsibilities:
a. To act as the District Lodge 140 representative reporting to the General Chair assigned the responsibility for Health and Safety and the National PDGC and to liaise with Grand Lodge as necessary.

b. Participate in the IAMAW Joint Air Transportation Safety Committee as the Canadian representative. Attend all JATSC Committee meetings, bring Canadian content and issues to the Committee and provide reports to the District Lodge 140
of all JATSC meetings attended.

c. Provide all District Lodge 140 Local Lodges with health and safety information as needed or requested.

d. Provide health and safety training to Local Lodge Health and Safety committees as needed or requested.

e. Act as the District Lodge 140 representative on workplace Policy committees and attend meetings as needed. Interact with Local Lodge Health and Safety committees on matters of policy, regulation and legislation as needed or requested.

f. Liaise with HRSDC on all matters pertaining to workplace health and safety that affect the District Lodge 140 membership.

g. Liaise with District Lodge 140 negotiating committees to assist in preparing health and safety language for Collective Bargaining as requested.

h. Provide health and safety material and reports to the District Lodge 140 website

We are looking for feedback from all Local Lodges on their knowledge and use of the current Coordinator and how the position could work better for your Local Lodges and your Regions.
