Negotiations Update 14 August, 2012
During the evening of August 13, 2012 your Negotiating Committee and Garda agreed to a new collective agreement that will be brought to you to vote on.
We unanimously recommend acceptance of this agreement.
The following are a few highlights of the agreement which will be explained in detail at the ratification meetings on August 21, 2012.
1) Vacations – up to 50% of vacation entitlement may be exchanged for cash out – vacation to begin after days off.
2) Introduction of IAMAW Pension Plan at 60¢ per hour paid by Company – increased to 70¢ per hour effective April 1, 2014.
3) One additional sick day effective April 1, 2013.
4) Company to provide or pay for medical certificates required for recertification.
5) Wages – Year 1 – $2.22 added to wage scales to replace COLA & VRSC.
– $1020 lump sum for full time employees
– $612 lump sum for part time employees.
Year 2 – 2 ½% increase on new wage scale
Year 3 – 2 ½% increase on new wage scale.
6) Grandfathered PLs to continue receiving $2.35 per hour above the Level 3.4 rate of pay.
7) Team Leaders to receive 5% premium above the Level 3.4 rate of pay.
