Letter to Garda Regional Director
Dear Ms. Arnold:
The union shift committee met with you on Friday to suggest improvements to Garda’s shift schedule.
During the weekend we noticed that Garda had posted many changes throughout, but the majority of them were not what was discussed.
We have put you on notice with the filing of a grievance. Garda has violated LOU 6 with the elimination of some 250 T.L. positions, and again LOU 7 which is still before an arbitrator.
As a result, the Union has decided to no Ionger participate in this shift bid and we have asked all shop stewards cleared to go back to their work locations. This was not an easy decision, as we know members have asked for our assistance while they are bidding their shifts.
We are requesting that you postpone the shift bid and make the necessary corrections.
