Garda Negotiations Update – 29 June, 2012

Your elected Bargaining Committee met with Garda in direct negotiations during the weeks of June 18 and 25, 2012. Both the Union and the company presented their proposals with very productive discussions taking place. We presented our monetary proposals which Garda is going to cost out with their financial department. We have agreed to have further meetings in the near future to continue the negotiations. Arbitration Hearing News • 15 June, 2012

As we mentioned earlier this week, the IAM had its first two arbitration hearings this week to present GARDA screener grievances dealing with screeners who had been terminated by GARDA dating back as far as 2010. There were 12 grievances for ten grievors presented on June 11 and 14, 2012. Wearing of Ties

Agenda for bargaining being developed

Dear Brothers and Sisters; During the week of May 5 to May 1 1, your elected bargaining committee met to receive training and to develop negotiation strategies for our upcoming round of bargaining with Garda. The IAM Strategic Resources Department made a presentation to your committee based on the bargaining survey conducted in the workplace. Based on your responses we are developing an agenda that will enable us to discuss with Garda the issues that are most important to you.
