Further to Stay Strong issued on 23 March, 2012: Members have raised some valid concerns about the eligibility to vote in the Stewards and Negotiating Committee elections on 11 April, 2012. We have listened carefully and evaluated your feedback. Starting IMMEDIATELY, the IAM will be asking all those who did not sign an IAM card before 31 December, 2011 to sign one now. The IAM met with Garda to discuss grievances on Friday 30 March, 2012.  Terminations and other grievances were discussed. We discussed 135 grievances. All outstanding terminations resulting from the slowdown in October 2011   (those who have not yet returned to work) are going to arbitration. We are  in the process of contacting those members. After discussions regarding terminations, we continued with the other grievances in order of severity. Some of the other grievances discussed require answers from the company. We

The NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE will consist of 10 members plus an IAM Business Representative comprising of three (3)Senior Shop Stewards and an additional seven (7) members elected by the membership: • three (3) from Terminal 1, • three (3) from Terminal 3, and • one(1) from Toronto Island.
